My strategy for creating a sustainable healthy lifestyle is all about making simple, yet effective healthy upgrades that allow you to achieve your health goals and maintain your healthy habit routine for the long term.

Nutrition &  Body Awareness

Eating healthy is NOT about following a certain meal plan or going “on and off” diets because that is not sustainable.

It is NOT about counting calories because it’s darn near impossible to do that accurately.

Eating healthy is about being aware of what you are eating, how you are feeling, and making conscious choices repeatedly.

People who develop a healthy relationship with their body, food, and fitness have built the skills – through practice – that allow them to be mindful, pay attention to their emotions, and tune into their body’s signals.

The skill of “listening to your body and learning what works for you” — is just that, a skill.  And, with practice, it can be developed and improved upon.

Extremes such as meal plans and restrictive diets and cheat days take the thinking out of the game.  Extreme approaches fail because they are not sustainable.

Being mindful of what you eat and how you feel takes practice and requires you to actively make a choice.

The more you understand your body and the food that fuels it – eating well and moving more does begin to become automated.

Fitness

Are you someone who enjoys exercising?  Many people see exercise as a chore.  The reasons why vary from time, convenience, or simply they haven’t found an activity they enjoy.

If the word “exercise” sounds intimidating to you, reframe the concept as “movement” instead.  After all, exercise at its core is simply moving your body.

You can choose to move your body in whatever way feels good to you.

Once you discover YOUR right combination of time + convenience + enjoyment, and realize the benefits of exercise, you won’t want to stop!

Believe it or not, exercise actually gives you energy!

Exercise has also been shown to be great for reducing stress, anxiety and depression, as well as keeping you looking and feeling younger.

Think about how you feel after you’ve been sitting around for hours, versus how you feel when you’re up moving around.

You feel better when you’re active, right?

The great news is, you don’t have to spend hours at the gym to get the benefits of exercise!

The key is to start with something, and COMMIT to it.  

And this course is going to show you how!

Mindset

Just like you train your body, you must train your mind.

Your perspective is what creates your experiences.

If you get all the knowledge but are not shifting your perspective, thoughts and beliefs, you are just sitting on a pile of books.

Your brain is your most valuable asset.  Growing and managing your mind influences all other assets.

When you think about your assets, what comes to mind?  Maybe you are thinking about things of value that you own… your house, car, jewelry, etc. 

The definition of asset is: “A useful or valuable thing, person, or quality.“

So, if your brain is your most valuable asset, what are some other assets you have as a human being?

Well, your health would be a valuable asset.  Without it you suffer in this life. 

Time is another valuable asset.  More time means you can do more of the things that make you happy. 

Your relationships with other people and the legacy you leave behind are two other important assets…

It all comes back to your brain – and you understanding the value of it and the power you have to grow it.

When you understand your brain you are able to change your thoughts, feelings and actions.

This course is about gaining knowledge and using that knowledge to better yourself.

 

One of the most amazing things that you are able to do as a human with a high-functioning brain is create goals and plan ahead.

Yet so many of us interfere with our own goals.  We get in our own way.

We procrastinate, and put off our goals because we are afraid to fail. 

We seek false-pleasures (over-eating, overspending, overscheduling, etc.) instead of doing the hard work needed to achieve our goals. 

And we quit because we are not seeing results right away!
